Alternatives to a blazer?
Our take
Exploring alternatives to a traditional blazer can open up a world of stylish options for those seeking comfort and versatility. If structured blazers feel too confining, consider choices like a fitted chore coat for a tailored yet relaxed vibe, or an unstructured blazer made from soft materials for easy layering. A shawl-collared cardigan may provide a cozy touch, while a sweater jacket offers a fitted look without sacrificing comfort. What other pieces do you turn to in situations where a blazer would typically shine?
I'm curious what else y'all wear in situations where a blazer would be appropriate.
I personally just really hate the look and feel of more structured blazers and would prefer to avoid them if at all possible. They also tend to be dry clean only which is just not practical or affordable for me.
I have a few ideas myself:
A chore coat, especially one that is more fitted and tailored, and possibly a bit cropped
An unstructured/sweater/ponte blazer
A shawl collared cardigan (too casual and slouchy?)
A sweater jacket ( I'm thinking of something that's more fitted and maybe slightly more structured than a cardigan)
What else would fit the bill here?
