Are there any discounts on handmade South American ponchos this season?

Our take

As the chill of the season settles in, many are seeking the warmth and style of handmade South American ponchos. In my recent search, I discovered that prices vary significantly based on material and craftsmanship. Seasonal discounts, especially on wool-blend options, are often available, yet authentic handwoven ponchos from Peru or Bolivia tend to maintain a higher price due to their intricate artistry. While bulk sales platforms like Alibaba offer competitive pricing, they may lack the unique charm of artisan-made pieces.

In fact, I was on the hunt last week because I was seeking something like that, since it became colder here and I wanted a made-in-South-American poncho. I began searching the Internet marketplaces and found that the rates actually differ in accordance with the material and workmanship. Others are even doing little seasonal discounts, particularly of wool-blend ponchos, yet the actually handwoven ones of Peru or Bolivia do remain somewhat costly due to the work involved.

I even looked on some of the bulk sales sites such as Alibaba just to browse and there you can occasionally find even better bulk pricing although not always the same home-crafted touch you would get with a single artisan.

So far, I have observed that the best discounts are not all year round but tend to be during seasonal sales or at festivals. When one is intending to make a purchase, then it is advisable to shop around a bit and wait until there are some promotional offers before one makes a purchase.
