Millie Bobby Brown Starts a Transparent Style Era in Her Nakedest Skirt Set Yet

The recent buzz surrounding Millie Bobby Brown’s choice of attire at the *Enola Holmes 3* after-party – a remarkably sheer skirt set – speaks to a fascinating shift in celebrity style and transparency, particularly for younger stars navigating the public eye. It’s a move that echoes broader trends, such as the rising popularity of more relaxed silhouettes seen in [The Anti-Daisy Dukes Shorts Trend Taking Over Summer 2026], demonstrating a move away from overtly provocative or hyper-sexualized looks toward something more nuanced and, arguably, more empowering. This isn't simply about revealing clothing; it’s about control and agency in how that reveal is presented, a subtle distinction that separates it from earlier eras of celebrity fashion. It also subtly contrasts with the more traditionally structured and powerful aesthetic exemplified by figures like Victoria Beckham, who recently embraced a sporty-chic look in [Victoria Beckham Goes Full Sporty-Spice Mode in Chunky Nike Sneakers], highlighting different paths to conveying confidence and style.

The significance of Brown’s choice extends beyond a single outfit. It’s part of a larger narrative around transparency and authenticity in the public persona of young celebrities like her. We’re seeing a generation that's more willing to challenge established norms and express themselves in ways that feel genuine, even if that means pushing boundaries. This aligns with a cultural conversation around body image and self-acceptance, where celebrities are increasingly expected to be “real” and relatable. The "naked dress trend" itself, as highlighted in the article, is evolving; it's no longer solely about shock value but about a deliberate exploration of the body and a redefinition of what constitutes “revealing.” It’s a far cry from the more rigidly defined expectations of royalty, as evidenced by recent news regarding changes within Buckingham Palace, such as [Buckingham Palace Confirms King Charles Will Be Making the Same "Eyebrow-Raising" Move Prince William Plans When He's King], reflecting a broader societal shift toward more fluid expressions of individuality.

However, this transparency isn’t without its complexities. While Brown’s choice can be interpreted as a statement of self-assuredness, it also opens her up to intense scrutiny and potential criticism. The line between empowerment and exploitation can be incredibly thin, particularly when dealing with younger individuals. The way the media and the public interpret such choices – and the subsequent impact on the individual – remains a crucial consideration. It necessitates a more thoughtful and nuanced approach to celebrity style, one that moves beyond simplistic judgments and acknowledges the multifaceted factors at play. The responsibility falls not only on the celebrity but also on the media and the audience to engage with these evolving expressions of style with sensitivity and understanding.

Ultimately, Brown’s sheer skirt set represents more than just a fleeting fashion moment. It's a microcosm of the larger cultural shifts occurring around celebrity image, authenticity, and the evolving definition of femininity. The willingness to experiment with transparency, coupled with a deliberate effort to control the narrative, suggests a new era of celebrity style – one where vulnerability and confidence coexist, and where the gaze is increasingly directed inward rather than solely outward. The question now becomes: will this trend continue to evolve, and will other young stars embrace this level of openness, or will we see a return to more conventional forms of self-presentation?

Instead of kicking up her heels after promoting Enola Holmes 3 on June 25, Millie Bobby Brown slipped into something more comfortable for the after-party. The actor's third and final outfit of the day also happened to be the most revealing: a naked, lingerie-leaning skirt set from It girl-beloved brand Mirror Palais.

To demonstrate just how sheer her after-party pick was, you must first see her red carpet gown at the New York City premiere. Stylist Summer Lahti tapped Brown's wedding dress designer, Galia Lahav, for what the label called "another unforgettable moment" on Instagram.

Channeling her wedding dress's intricate corsetry, the custom sweetheart neckline fit the Stranger Things alum like a glove. Glossy, cool-blue satin debuted in horizontal drapery, before giving way to the skirt's vertical, free-flowing pleats. Her waistband's slouchy bow helped marry the contrasting patterns. Once the silky train swept the carpet, the bottom layer's hidden petticoat revealed itself to be matte and semi-sheer. Perhaps Brown was teasing her after-hours attire?

Brown's premiere style did a complete 180 before the after-party. So much so, you'd think the two events weren't related at all. That's the beauty of after-party fashion, though. There's rarely a dress code, meaning Brown had full creative control. Plus, who's going to tell the star of Enola Holmes 3 to change?

She looked ready for a romantic, end-of-vacation dinner with her husband, Jake Bongiovi, in the matching Amantes set from Mirror Palais. Both separates were almost completely sheer, starting with an almost sold-out long-sleeve. The nude-tinted mesh clung to her figure like second skin. Then, floral lace appliqués—sprinkled in moderation atop her bust and waist—covered only what was necessary.

Brown coupled her top with the knee-length skirt, which featured the same mesh-and-lace combination. The only difference? The top of the 22-year-old's midi became increasingly opaque, thanks to a silk charmeuse-wrapped waistband. Brown's nude color story continued with an ultra-strappy take on the heeled flip-flops trend. To finish, she upped the Euro summer-ready energy with the head scarf trend tied around her beachy waves.

Mirror Palais has created quite a name for itself among fashion girls like Sabrina Carpenter, Barbara Palvin, Bella Hadid, Dua Lipa, Charli xcx, and more. Brown, for one, is especially fond of the New York label's after-party options. Last October, she celebrated the end of Stranger Things in a burgundy, lace-trimmed corset and a matching micro skirt from Mirror Palais. It seems her latest naked look will share its sold-out status in no time.

Brown's Mirror Palais pick took her recent naked dress streak to a whole new level of risqué. Her Bronx Banco gown during last year's Stranger Things press tour was partially transparent, but still relatively layered. If any designer can awaken an A-lister's sultry side, it's Mirror Palais. Carpenter and Lipa can't say no to the catalog's newest naked dresses.
