Pants into tiered skirt
Our take
Transforming your oversized pants into a tiered skirt is a delightful upcycling project that blends creativity with practicality. Yes, it is indeed possible to achieve that gathered, tiered look by adding elastic bands of varying lengths. By strategically placing these bands, you can create volume and texture without needing to completely deconstruct your work. This approach allows you to maintain the integrity of your design while exploring new silhouettes. Embrace this opportunity to experiment with different lengths and gathers for a unique, personalized piece.
Hi! I need advice as someone trying to learn how to sew through upcycling. I have some pants two sizes too big that I took apart down the middle in order to sew it back together as a skirt, but I would love for it to be tiered. Is it possible for me to add elastic bands of different lengths to create that gathered/tiered look? Or would I need to completely deconstruct?
