PHX International Arrival at 5:40 PM – Can I Make a 6:50 PM Connection?

I have an international flight arriving at PHX Airport at 5:40 PM. I’ll need to go through immigration and pick up my checked bag (I only have one, and in business class so I’m hoping it won’t take too long).

I’m thinking about booking a connecting flight home around 6:50–7:00 PM. Is that realistic?

How big and busy is PHX airport? I didn’t see many flights after 5 PM, so I’m wondering if it’s relatively small.

I need to get back the same day—my home airport is Houston, but I’m also open to Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio. The issue is I can’t seem to find any later flights out of PHX, and the next option after 6:50 PM is the next morning.
