Recommendations for plastic-free activewear made/owned in Australia?
Our take
Hi folks, I’m slowly de-plasticing my wardrobe and activewear is the hardest to transition. I’ve done some research (and am now getting targeted ads). I know that not all natural fibre products are as natural as they may seem, but -help!
Options seem to be: Zone by Lydia (Hemp, organic cotton and ‘minimal spandex’) Merino Country (100% merino) Organic Crew (100% organic cotton, manufactured in Australia/India) WildBody (88% GOTS certified organic cotton, 12% elastane, more detail about fabric online) Bhumi (95% organic cotton 5% elastane)
Does anyone have any recommendations for any of these products? I’m specifically looking for leggings/bike short style for gym, cycling and running.
Thank you!

- short girl friendly natural fibre activewear?I’m 152cm and have been finding it really difficult to find natural fibre leggings that will fit. I love the zonebylydia cropped yoga tights as they fit full length and I love a flare but their colours are a bit limited and I don’t want to buy something I won’t wear. Every other Australian based natural activewear brand I’ve come across doesn’t seem to do any sort of cropped legging (much less a flare) at all :/ So, any recommendations would be super helpful, would defs prefer au/nz based but I’m open to anything at this point submitted by /u/Positive-Substance27 [link] [comments]
- Female activewear with 0 synthetic fibersHey all! I really struggle to figure out what to wear for my stregth and cardio workouts. While tops are easy to find, the biggest trouble I have with bottoms. I don't wear leggins/bike shorts (they all have at least elastane in them anyway) but all shorts I can find are made of synthetic fabrics. Surely I can't be the only person on earth having this issue? What are you wearing to the gym that's durable and made from natural fibers? submitted by /u/asya-f [link] [comments]
- non-plastic bras, tights, shapewear, etc?i’m trying to remove polyester, nylon, acetate etc from my wardrobe/life. not just for sustainability reasons but also for sensory issues, the materials just make me feel horrible and sick to touch (i’m autistic). most of my clothes are cotton and linen but i don’t understand what the hell you’re supposed to do about the other bits and pieces. bras, tights, shapewear, anti-chafing shorts, activewear, swimwear, etc - where do people find these that don’t contain plastic? i’ve only been able to find loungewear-style cotton bralettes, but as a 38G my boobs are not staying in or getting any support from those. i’m in the uk btw. submitted by /u/rootsinmydream [link] [comments]
- Sustainable activewear for larger bustHellooo everyone! I’m currently trying to find a good activewear setup and would really appreciate some advice from people who maybe have some recommendations. I’m looking for something that ideally uses more natural / low-tox materials (organic cotton, TENCEL, etc.) or at least cleaner fabrics without PFAS or heavy chemical finishes. I know that limits options a lot, especially for higher support sports bras. In terms of training, I mainly do resistance/strength training, with some occasional HIIT classes, so I need at least medium support, ideally something that can handle a bit of movement but doesn’t necessarily need to be extreme high-impact all the time. I’ve also found that I really don’t get on well with traditional structured bras (wired or very “cup-shaped” sports bras) — they feel bulky and uncomfortable for me. I prefer more of an activewear set / crop-top style bra that feels smoother and less restrictive. For reference, my measurements/size: Underbust: 80 cm Bust: 92 cm I usually wear UK 12DD / EU approx 85B depending on brand (fits comfortably in some everyday bras) I’ve looked at brands like Seela, MATE the Label, Tripulse, Organic Basics, etc., but I’m struggling to find something that balances: cleaner materials enough support for workouts and a non-bulky, comfortable fit for a fuller bust If anyone has recommendations for brands or specific pieces that might work, especially in the EU or that ship to Europe, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks so much in advance 😊 submitted by /u/bpearcesmith [link] [comments]
